What’s up with us…
My Heart On A Space Shuttle - Lyric Video
A new song off the upcoming Ep from Stillborn Skies out on Streaker Records soon.
While practicing up for our out of town and “special March” shows, we couldn’t help but put a new song together. It’s just too much fun messing with different parts and harmonies. Hope you enjoy “Enough is Enough”. Lyrics
Anyways, we’ve got two shows in February coming up. Houston, you’re first. The 19th Hole in Spring, TX (just north of Houston) is on the 11th with AUTOMATIC CYCLE (they’re cool dudes). Then we’re back in Austin at HEADHUNTERS Feb 24th! Pre-ordering tickets at www.aftonshows.com/stillbornskies helps us out BIG TIME and will be cheaper than at the door.
Your support means so much to us. Every penny we make is going to go to these sweet new shirts I shouldn’t be telling you about. Oops.
Get ready for more teaser videos for our upcoming Ep and more exciting news from us!

New Ep. Coming soon.

It’s time to play in Austin again! We’ve got a fundraiser show planned for HeadHunters on Feb 24th. It’s a Friday, and that’s awesome. We’re stoked to get back to Red River and get loud again. There’s some pretty exciting stuff coming up for mid-march (*not telling*) and this show can help us accomplish our goals with YOUR support.
Head to https://tickets.aftonshows.com/stillbornskies and lock in your tickets for the show. It’s not only cheaper than the door (by 4 bucks) but it’s a BIG help for us. We did this last year and helped finance some of our upcoming album. This show is going to help us with the crazzzzzy stuff that’s going on in March.
So if you can! Make the last Friday in February a night with Stillborn Skies. Grab a friend and come see us do what we love to do most - playing our hearts out.
Cheers,
Brian, Jay, Pat
Coming up.
It may be the year of the Zombie Apocalypse, so we’d better make it a good one eh? Let’s see…
We do have a new Ep coming out. What’s up with that? Well, we’ve decided to do things like we always have - by ourselves. This means we can spend an ungodly amount of time on it. If you think about it, it took us about 7 months to record, mix, master, produce and distribute our first record. Seeing though we got our tracking done 3 months ago, we’re on track for a speedier release. We want to ensure that we do things even better this time around. And we like reviewing, and reviewing, and reviewing mixes.
So thanks for being patient with us. We can’t wait to work with Streaker Records to get this music out to as many people as we can. In the meantime, there’s other good stuff going on. We’ve got some cool shows in 2012, and they’re not only in Austin. We’ll be hitting both San Antonio and Houston within the first 6 weeks and we also have some other “special” shows in (mid)March. It’ll be fun to get back in the truck and hit the road. And who knows, there may be some more places we venture out to before the summer’s end.
Thank you to all of the supporters of this music endeavor myself, Brian and Jay are having so much fun with. Your attendance and contributions to this project is greatly appreciated. We’ll need your help this coming year, and for it you will be handsomely rewarded.
Have your friends “like” us on facebook. Don’t worry, we don’t spam or post every 12 minutes. We understand how that goes ;).
Later,
PatMore music being mailed!
Thanks to everyone who participated in our little weekend contest. And congrats to Ray and Jeff for scoring the most points! We’ve been trying to get our name out to more and more people throughout the country and it’s great to have everyone’s help. We’ve got some great things coming for 2012 and would love to have as many people as possible share the experiences with us.
If you’d like to support us, you can find our music at www.bigcartel.stillbornskies.com and grab our Debut CD for only 5 bucks and our new “come hither stare” single (three tracks) for only three bucks. Every little bit helps. We’ll be needing as much gas money as we can scrape up for this coming year and every dollar you spend on us goes to the band. Thanks for listening to us, sharing our music with others and coming to our shows.

and the winner is...
Congrats to David Brow for taking only 22 minutes to post the winning combination and on the first guess! Here’s the songs and a quick backstory.
1. Empty Arms - This song was written with fellow infantryman Jake Parker in FOB Anaconda. We co-wrote the lyrics both being able to lament about how tough it is being away from loved ones. And how cool it feels to get a care package.
2. Love to Hate - The lyrics for this song were written literally minutes after hearing some gut-wrenching breakup news. Getting dumped is never a good thing and it’s especially bad when you’ve been deployed for 9 months. It’s wishing you could hate someone when you clearly are still in love.
3. Brand to Scar - This song came a week after the breakup and as you can tell the love has faded and the resentment has begun to set in. It’s another take on the feelings of the relationship and is pretty much a rewrite of Love to Hate.
Thanks for everyone who posted a guess and shared our link! Next time we’ll have to make it harder for you guys. Happy Veteran’s Day!
Veterans Day contest
Thanks to all the servicemen and women who serve our country. We are stronger and better as a nation because of these brave soldiers. Pat and Jay are former “recruits” spending extended periods of time away from home during their time in the service. We decided to do a little trivia contest and give away some things.
Our first album is very much about drama, heartache and well…deception. Most of the songs are all true stories written by Pat and three especially, were written during his time in Afghanistan.
Guess the three songs and we’ll mail you our new “Come Hither Stare” single, our first CD, a shirt (subject to availability), stickers and put you down for a FREE copy of our new Ep coming in 2012 (in case you have everything else).
Here are the tracklistings if you don’t have the CD.
1. Prologue
2. Love to Hate
3. The Facade
4. P.S. Tonight
5. Stars
6. Frayed
7. You Can’t Pretend
8. Sound of Sirens
9. In Transit
10. Empty Arms
11. Read My Lips
12. From Brand To Scar
13. Epilogue
Here’s some hints.
1. One song was the first we ever released on a single back in 2008
2. The live move “shh” is performed on one.
3. One song was featured on our STAR 1019 radio spot
Post to Twitter, Facebook or Youtube pages and we’ll be monitoring for a winner!
Post questions and we’ll see if we can give away more hints.

So Stillborn Skies has an acoustic show coming up. And we don’t really get a chance to play acoustic anymore so we decided to run the “come to the show and get a free LP” promotion one more time! We play nice and early on friday (8pm) and can’t wait to sing a whole bunch of old tunes. AND because we won’t have a full band we’re going to need YOUR help singing along!
So it’s Nov 8th at the Red Eyed Fly and only 5 bucks to get in. Save 3 dollars and grab the new “come hither stare” single which has our newest tune plus a cover and secret song and don’t forget to say HI and grab our first LP for F R E E.
If you have any questions about directions, parking or what songs we’ll be playing post on our wall on facebook www.facebook.com/stillbornskies or message anyone of us. We’d love to see you there. Grab a friend and start your Friday night out at The Red Eyed Fly!
